International Women's Day
Happy International Women’s Day to all you fabulous women out there. Today we’ll be celebrating the focal point in the Movement for women’s rights as it’s ‘International Women’s Day around the globe.
International Women’s Day is one of the most important days of the year to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about women’s equality, lobby for accelerated gender parity, and fundraise for female-focused charities. Furthermore, International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups celebrate women’s achievements.
The campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2022 is #BreakTheBias. Whether deliberate or unconscious, the bias makes it difficult for women to advance in their careers and personal lives. Only knowing that bias exists isn’t enough. Instead, action is needed to level the playing field.
This life has no existence without a strong ally in ‘Woman’ in every stage of life starting from motherhood to wife, from sister and finally a daughter. Happy Women’s Day!

The History of Women’s Day
In 1908, 15,000 women in New York went on strike because of low pay and terrible factory conditions. The Socialist Party of America organized National Women’s Day the following year. One year after that, there was a conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, about equality and women’s right to vote. In Europe, the idea grew and became International Women’s Day (IWD) for the first time in 1911, and the United Nations declared March 8 International Women’s Day in 1975.
